December 2022. The Japanese Garden at Cowden, Scotland.

This unusual garden, originally started in 1908, has been recently restored and is now a popular attraction. We were lucky to visit on a cold December day which gave interesting patterns on the partially frozen water.

In Perth there are allotments on Moncreiffe island in the middle of the Tay. At the end of July they had an open day complete with live music and produce sales. So interesting to see what everyone has done with their space.

We had the good fortune to visit Kilbryde Castle Gardens and see their abundant snowdrops.

October 2020

October brought vivid autumn colours and at the end of the month a spectacular sunrise.

April 2020

Sadly, April turned out to be unique in the world’s history as at least one quarter of the planet’s population was asked to remain at home to prevent the spread of the dangerous Covid-19 virus and many, many people died. Weather wise it was a beautiful month, much less poluted than usual. We had daily daybreak walks in our local park and really appreciated spring blossoming.

FIRST FROST OF THE WINTER

This year the first frost of the winter season was on October 21st. It was quite mild but decorated the garden beautifully. Overhead geese were flying north.
