April 2021

April was a month of bright blue skies, clouds, showers and rainbows. Buds and blossoms bloomed. We particularly enjoyed walks by the River Tay as we could see through the bare tree branches to the river banks.

Comet Neowise was visible in July

Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) is a long period comet with a near parabolic orbit discovered on March 27th 2020 by astronomers using the Near Earth Orbit Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer space telescope. It survived its fly by the sun and could be seen in July – clouds permitting! We managed faint sightings on 3 nights and also saw noctilucent clouds beyond Perth.

May 2020

May turned out to be the driest calendar month on record with lots of sun. It was very pretty and varied: mists, beams of sun, frost, colourful skies and all the time the plants were greening and flowering.
