April 2022

At the beginning of the month we stayed in a holiday house right on the shore of loch Ewe. The weather was wonderfully variable so we saw the surroundings in all lights – including the aurora and light from a heather fire in the distance.

March 2022 Snowdrops

We had the good fortune to visit Kilbryde Castle Gardens and see their abundant snowdrops.

February 2022. Tay estuary walk at Newburgh.

We had a lovely walk through fields by the Tay at Newburgh on a beautiful blue sky day. It looked good enough to swim but was just above freezing!

January 2022

Finally there was some snow in Scotland so on 5th January after consulting webcams and weather forecasts we set off to Glencoe. We found a little snow and saw a lovely sunset on the way home.

December 2021

We finally went to visit Drumderg wind farm which we see from the top of the hill in our local park in Perth. It was a day of glorious blue skies with the snow clad high peaks gleaming in the background. Nice to see cattle on the farm too.

A month of few sunny days, but when there was sun we got out and about to Loch Fascally, Cloan Glen, the Firth of Forth and Drumpellier Country Park.

October 2021 – Autumn fruits and colourful leaves

It was a scrappy autumn this year, windy and wet, but there were fruits and colourful leaves nevertheless.

We had a glorious week in Glen Affric, home of the most complete Caledonian Pine forest in Scotland. The twelve mile walk round the loch was tiring but well worth the effort.
