January 2023

In the middle of January we had a few days of remarkably clear atmospheric conditions. The snow clad mountains of the highlands to the west and north of Perth looked close enough to touch!

This unusual garden, originally started in 1908, has been recently restored and is now a popular attraction. We were lucky to visit on a cold December day which gave interesting patterns on the partially frozen water.

The Queen’s platinum jubilee weekend was an unusual event and on 2nd June we went to see the lighting of the jubilee beacon by the river Tay. It was a peaceful, tranquil evening with low key ceremony.
